Please read the attached document ( English / Spanish ) to learn more about state testing requirements and parental rights to opt-out of the Math and/or ELA summative assessment. The Science Opt Out form is a separate district requirement. Federal and state laws require that at least 95% of students in grades 3-8 and 11 take the Oregon Summative Assessment in English Language Arts and Math. More information regarding the importance of state testing and systems of accountability will be posted soon. The ODE 30-Day Notice for Statewide Tests document including the optional opt-out form will be available on the district and school websites for families of grade 11 students that are interested. If choosing to opt your student out of state testing please follow the directions listed below: Print a copy of the form off the website OR pick up a copy in the main office at your student’s school Complete the form Return the form to your student’s school Opt out requests will not be taken over the phone.
